Hi just wanted to find out what currently is the best mod/most fun mod for medieval II? Gonna reinstall it after I'm done with shogun 2 and so was wondering what would be good options. I would like a mod that improves the default medieval II experience ( more units, better AI etc) rather than overhauling it completely.
So although I know there's a few good mods like the LOTR mod I would prefer other options Redfet01 Lol, I just recently installed it again to try out some mods. The best ones out there imo are, obviously The Third Age (LOTR mod) as you mentioned. Broken Crescent (Crusades Mod) which puts the game in the middle east during the crusades, with all new units and factions. This is the one I'm currently playing! If you want something more like the original but better, It has to be Stainless Steel mod. It's massive, loads of new units, few new factions, better AI etc. That's another one I'm playing:) Alternatively you have Lands to Conquer mod, which improves the main game differently to Stainless Steel.
For example you get more lands to conquer!;) Head over to TWCenter to check these and other ones out. I believe there is also a Brittania mod, which I have heard good things about but haven't tried yet.
Talking about Shogun 2, have you tried the complete mod for it? Wow nice thanks for all the replies! Just to check is it possible to have 2 mods installed at one time on a single installation of Medieval II? For example Stainless Steel and Broken Crescent, or are they not compatible. The shogun 2 all in one mod sounds pretty cool might try that soon Redfet01 Yeah you can.
For example I have Broken Crescent installed in the main Medieval folder and Stainless Steel in a folder named Mod (which I created in the main directory). They have there own exe file to launch the respective mods. Don't forget Stainless Steel needs Kingdoms expansion also.
